Willie Mae Harrell was the oldest daughter of Will and Susie Bailey, born on June 2, 1930.
LIFE EVENTS
Willie Mae confessed Christ, an early age, and was an active member of the St. John Baptist Church (Pratt City). She enjoyed singing, sang in the choir, and with many Women’s Day Choirs until she began to have health issues.
Wille Mae was a graduate of Parker High School. She Began her career in Dietary Services, shortly after graduating High School, and emerged as the Head Cook at Jefferson County Ketona Nursing Home where she worked until her retirement many years later. She also was a hair stylist for many years.
Willie Mae enjoyed life, loved music, loved her family, all of her family. She was proud to have been recognized as the matriarch of the Jemison Family Lineage for the last seven years, and oldest living family member for the last five years, attending every family reunion except for one.
She was preceded in death her parents, daughter Robin Harris, husband, Lorenza Harrell, grandson, Kenneth Hunt, siblings (James, Jesse, Barbara, Harriet, Lorenzo, and Billy Joe).
SUNSET
Willie Mae accepted the Master’s Call to Eternal Rest and Peace on Thursday, May 23, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memory, two granddaughters, Temeka Harris, and Keniyah Kimber, eleven greatgrandchildren. James Vassar, Jr., Alex Vassar, Kenneth Hunt, Victoria, Marcell, Kenrie, Kennedy Harris, Ariell Hagler, Courtney Smith, Robin Harris, and Erriona Thomas, one great, great grandson, James Vassar III, one niece, whom she referred to as her daughter, Linda (Johnny) McGhee, and four nephews, as her sons, Robert Green, Jr., Reginald (Latonja), Rickey (Christine) and Pastor Steve Green (Deidra), other nieces, and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
