Tommie Frank Carlisle, a loving husband, father and grandfather born March 28, 1945 in the town of Mulga , Alabama to Willie Reuban Carlisle and Norman Carlisle who preceded him in death. His love for his family showed in every aspect of his life, such as making sure that each Christmas Season was spent with our families in Alabama. It usually meant spending several hours praying that the weatherman was right about the weather and there were no surprise snowstorms going or coming back. Now, traveling by plane was a different story, one storm in a particular city kept us in Birmingham for two extra days, no one complained because we were at home sweet home . God had him in His Hands all those years while he was driving back and forth .
He spent four years in Vietnam fighting enemies and defending our country. There he was affected by a chemical that caused many soldiers to have health related issues . That situation did not keep Tommie down because he joined a group of walkers that called themselves Northland Pacers. The group would walk up to six miles per day , improving his health and providing comradery. After coming home from the war ,he was employed by Chrysler Motor Company in Warren , Michigan.
Being a graduate of Westfield High School, class of 1963 , any opportunity to attend a Westfield High School Reunion was a grand time for Tommie.
In addition to losing his parents, his brother, Willie Gwen Carlisle preceded him . He leaves to cherish his memories a loving, caring wife : Louise Carlisle ,a daughter, Tameca Sneed, two grandchildren: Kayden Sneed , Kyren Nunn, siblings : Cora Jean Carlisle and Charley James Carlisle, Sr., brother -in – laws, Willie Charles Bailey Sr. and Robert Menefee , Sr. and sister -in -law, Dorothy Menefee, Nephews include : Nichlos Carlisle, Charley James Carlisle , Jr. , Terrell Carlisle, Willie Charles Bailey ,Jr. Cedric Bailey, Christopher Bailey , Eric Bailey , Shunn Bailey , Robert Menefee, Jr. and Nez Marzette , as well as his Niece Marci Menefee.
