Teretha Mae Mullen was born in Birmingham, Al on June 28, 1948 to Robert Mullen and Gladys Millhouse Mullen. She was one of five children born to this union.
Teretha received her education in the Birmingham Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age at Greater New Antioch Baptist church under the leadership of Rev J.H.Jones; she later united with the Love of God Ministry and served faithfully until her health declined.
Teretha affectionally known as “Baby Doll” did not meet any strangers. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt and would often babysit her great nieces and nephews. She was employed by UAB. Theretha’s favorite conversation was the Bible. Every morning, noon and night you would find her on the prayer line praying for other and their strength in the Lord.
She made her transition from her earthly home on Tuesday, February 17 at West Hill Nursing Facility.
She was preceded in death by her parent’s Robert and Gladys Mullen; sister Quintella Smiley, brother Robert Mullen, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her very precious memories her brother Michael L. Mullen, sister Robin D. Mullen, special niece Angela Weatherspoon, 9 nephews and nieces; 13 great nephews and nieces; 25 great great nephews and nieces; 2 great great great nephew and niece. A special cousin Dorothy Bush of (Michigan), 2 god daughter Tamara Ferguson, Sandra Hatton (South Carolina), 2 god son sons William Curiton and Tony William. , A special sister friend Dorothy Reynolds and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020, 4-7pm, at the Mullins Ensley Chapel.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 12:00 noon, at the Mullins Ensley Chapel with burial in Oakland Cemetery.
