Ruby Lee Williams was born on December 10, 1948, to the late Elie Williams Sr. and Myrtle Brown Williams in Hope Hull, Alabama.
Ruby accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the late Pastor John Billingsley of New Morning Star Baptist Church. Early in life, she sang in the Junior Choir. Later in life, her passion was organizing church concerts and family dinners. She served faithfully at The Tower Christian Church under Pastor Stephon Washington Sr. until her health failed.
Ruby attended Sherman Heights Elementary and was a graduate of Western Olin High School. After graduating high school, Ruby married her high school sweetheart Wilbert Reed and into this union Christopher Reed was born. In later years, she fell in love with her companion Glenn Cooke Sr., and they had a son Glendrick Williams. She was also employed by the VA Hospital.
Ruby was a loving daughter and the primary care giver for her father for many years (until their health failed).
Ruby was preceded in death by her father Elie Williams Sr., her mother Myrtle Brown Williams, her siblings Addie Jean Williams, Nathaniel Williams Sr., Earnestine Skinner, Larry Williams Sr., Eli Williams Jr., and grandson Christopher James Reed II.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two devoted sons: Christopher (Consuela) Reed, and Glendrick (Annie) Williams; two grandchildren: Cortney Reed and Jacob Williams; one brother: Bruce( Billie) Williams; one brother-in-law, Orman Skinner; three sisters-in-law: Linda Williams, Carolyn Williams and Sandra Williams; two uncles: Moses (Hester) Williams of Hope Hull, Alabama and James( Janie) Cobb of Gary, Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
