Roland David Hampton was born May 21, 1989, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Barbara Hampton and Roland Killian, Jr., the second of two children. Roland and his sister grew up in a loving and spiritually centered-home. At a very early age, Roland was taught that love for God and family was central in accordance with how he was to live his life. It is no wonder that during his early childhood years, Roland accepted Christ as his personal savior when he joined and was baptized at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Roland was educated in the Jefferson County School Systems, in which he graduated from Minor High School in Adamsville, AL in 2007. He completed some college education at Miles College. He also had a certificate from Lawson State Community College for Long Term Care Nursing Assistant. Roland was known to all his friends and family as an outgoing, bubbly, humorous, and energetic person. His personality would light up a room, and you loved him forever from the moment you met him. Roland was intelligent, funny, and kind to anyone he came into contact with. His heart was genuine. Roland had a love for music, arts, fashion, cooking, people and poetry. He loved to work with children and help others. His dream was to start his non-profit organization and call it "Agape," which means love.
On Saturday, March 18, 2023, the Lord called Roland home.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his loving memories: his mother, Barbara Hampton (Michael Johnson); his father, Roland Killian, Jr. (Jacqueline Palmer); his sister Jemeka Blackmon (Demetrius Blackmon, Jr.); his devoted and loving grandmother Katie Foster Rodgers (late Louis Rodgers). His aunts: Dorothy Williams (late Albert Williams), Emma Hampton, Martha Hurst, Brenda Hampton, Melissa Clay, Angela Emziah, Rolanda Williams, Toney Robinson, and Patricia Tillman. His uncles: Jim Hampton, William Hampton, Joseph Hampton, Stephen “Greg” Robinson, and Ronald Robinson. His soon-to-be niece: Charleiann Blackmon and many loving cousins, other family members, and an array of friends.
