A Time To Be Born
Robert Lee Hayden (know to some as “Cap Daddy” and to other as “Hat Daddy), was born on August 21,1934 in Shorter, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Susie Hayden, wife, Annie Pearl Hayden, two sons, Victor B. Hayden and Mark A. Hayden and grandson Victor B Hayden Walker.
A Time To Achieve
Robert received his formal education in Fairfield City School System. He graduated from Fairfield Industrial High School, Class of 1954. Robert then went to serve with the United State Army Air Forces.
Robert also worked for 62 years at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Al, where he retired on Aug 20, 2024, at the age of 90 years old.
A Time to Love
Robert was united in marriage to Annie Pearl Boglin in April 1960. To this union, five children were born, Reynard, Keith, Victor, Mark and Robette.
A Time to Serve
Robert accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. After moving to Fairfield with his parents, he became a member of Thompson Chapel AME Zion Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Preacher Steward, Steward, Sunday School Superintendent and Choir Member.
A Time to Move On:
During the early afternoon on April 25, 2026, God decided to call home His faithful servant. We love him but He loved him best.
A Time to Mourn:
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Reynard (Loretta) Hayden, Keith (Vicki) Hayden all of Birmingham, AL; one daughter, Robette (Fredrick) King of Montgomery, Al; one daughter in law, Regina Hayden of Birmingham, Al. Seven grandchildren, Andrea, Jamar, Reynard, LaJuan, Justin, Markeith and Hayden. Four great-grandchildren, Alisha, Kennedy, Kason and Amirah. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was cherished not only by family but by his special friends Garrick Powell, Sarah Sewell and her family and neighbors Rev. and Mrs. Bobby Palmore, Sr., Mr. Jasper Rutledge, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ford, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hart, Natasha Watts, The Lovejoy Family, his Thompson Chapel AME Zion Church family, and his St. Vincent’s Family.
