A TIME TO BE BORN                                                                                Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Rita Clark Roberts was born on September 23, 1953 in Fairfield, Alabama.  She was one of four children born to James and Louise Clark.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Beverly Clark Johnson, and her brother, Rollin Clark, Sr.

A TIME TO BE TRAINED                                                                             Proverbs 22:6

Rita was raised by parents that recognized the value or religious training.  She confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Metropolitan CME Church.

Rita was educated in the Birmingham Public Schools.  After attending McCaw Elementary School and Western-Olin High School (class of 1971), she received an Associate degree from Jefferson State Community College.

A TIME TO SERVE                                                                                           Romans 12:1-8

Rita worked for the State of Alabama for over 30 years in the Food Stamp Office and as a County Clerk Specialist.

Rita was committed, passionate and loyal to her church.  She was a member of the Missionary Society, Stewardess Board, Sunday School, Board of Christian Education, Senior Choir, Unity Choir, and the “Voices of Joy”.  She was the florist for the church and the Arts and Crafts director for Vacation Bible School.

A TIME TO BE LOVED                                                                                     Genesis 2:18, 21-24

Rita was married to Roderick on July 2, 1984.  She was a beautiful and devoted wife and was loved by him very much.  An extraordinary and caring mother to her two sons Donald and Darron.  A lovable grandmother to Jariuana, Jaimi, Aidon, Adonis and Caleesi.  A cherished sister to Lester.  A very protective and mindful Auntie to Tyndl, Malachi, Rollin, Shardae and Bryson.  She was a wonderful person to everyone she met.

A TIME TO DIE, A TIME TO REST                                                                         2 Timothy 4:7-8

Rita departed this earthly life on Tuesday morning, November 1, 2022.

Rita lives on in the cherished memories of her:  husband, Roderick Roberts; sons, Donald (Aisha) Miller, Jr.  and Darron R. Roberts; grandchildren, Jariuana Peterson, Jaimi M. Miller, Aidon E. Miller, Adonis E. Miller; great-granddaughter, Caleesi Jackson; brother, Lester(Devona) Clark; sisters-in-law, Vanetta H. Clark, Evelyn Robertson, Margaret(CJ) Miller, Earmatene(Jay) Richardson, and Marilyn(Earl) Allen; brothers-in-law, Clarence(Brenda) Roberts, Tommy(Ethel) Roberts, Harvey(Marilyn) Roberts, and a host of other relatives and friends.
