Otis Jerome King

        Mr. Otis Jerome King was born on March  20, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama. He entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on July 31, 2021 at the Birmingham Veterans Administrative Hospital. He was the son of the late Otis and Ethel Walker King. His brother J.D Kelley preceded him in death. Otis was a faithful member of New Salem Baptist church.

        He graduated from A.H. Parker High School in Birmingham. He attended Jefferson State Community College, later graduating from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s of Science in Political  Science. Otis retired from the United States Army in 2010. He served on active duty from 1982-1992, then served in the Army Reserve Unit in Birmingham. He also worked  for the United  States Post Office until his retirement.

        His memories will be forever cherished by his son, Yohance Runako (Tara) King of North Richland Hills, TX., two grandsons; Yakari Runako King and Tiras Yohance King; great granddaughter, Kalani Noel King; special friend, Henrietta Reynolds, and a host of relatives and friends.
