Mr. Nathaniel Quinton “Que” Murray was born Wednesday, March 5, 1969 to Rosia Rucker Underwood and the late Nathaniel Murray in Birmingham, Alabama. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and united with Saint Matthew Baptist Church, Docena, Alabama under the pastorate of Reverend O.V. Mosley. Nathaniel was educated in the Jefferson County School System, where he attended Crumly Chapel Elementary and Bottenfield Jr. High School. Because of his passion for travel, adventure, and love of his mother who was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, he moved there to complete his high school education. While attending Fort Campbell High School he played on the Falcons Varsity Boys basketball and baseball teams. A few years after graduating high school in 1987, he joined the U.S. Army serving honorably with the Rear Detachment providing unprecedented support for soldiers and their families during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Que’s love for family and friends was immeasurable and those who knew him could always look forward to a good time and engaging conversations. On Sunday, November 19, 2023, he transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home reuniting with his father, Nathaniel Murray, grandparents, L.C. (Mary) Rucker, Fannie Wagner and Ben (Mildred) Murray; sisters, Angela Murray and Bernadette Hill; nephew, Kennis Rucker; aunt, Lola Patterson; uncles, Willie Rucker and Arthur Lee Rucker; cousin, Cedric Rucker. Que leaves to cherish his memory, children, Natasha Zeigler, Brinia Fields, and Jaylin Murray; mother, Rosia Rucker Underwood; sisters, Felicia (Odell) Sumerlin, Yolanda Murray; brother, Roderick (Tamara) Green and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
