Marjorie Edwards was born to the late Fred & Marie Edwards on October 27, 1925 being the second child born of eleven children. Marjorie was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System, graduating from Westfield High School. She continued her education at Alabama A & M University and Miles College earning a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Elementary Education and Secondary Education (Home Economics). Marjorie's career focused on teaching for a year at Alabama State University, several years in Meridian, Mississippi and over twenty years in the Jefferson County Public School System touching the lives of many children before retirement. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. At the time of her going home to be with Lord, she was a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church located at 7520 Avenue E (Ensley) Birmingham, Al. where she served in a vital role in the ministry for many years. Marjorie was married to the late William Smith, Jr. To that union, three children were born: Clyde (deceased), Calvin (deceased), and Patricia. She leaves to remember her legacy and cherish her memories, a daughter and a host of many relatives inclusive of three grandchildren that she helped to rear, other grand, great grandchildren, two brothers, d sister, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, friends, and o supportive and loving church family,
