Obituary

Lillie Arnold Briggins was born on June 14, 1941, in Starkville, MS to the late Dwight and Annie Mae Arnold. Lillie was the second born of seven children.
At an early age Lillie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and a member of Second Baptist Church in Starkville. She later moved her membership to Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL.
Lillie attended Oktibbeha County Training School.
During her 7th-12th grade years she played the clarinet in the band. Later she graduated from WC Henderson High School in 1960. In the fall of 1960, she attended Mary Holmes Community College in West Point, MS.
After graduating she attended Stillman in Tuscaloosa, AL.
She moved to Birmingham, AL where she meet her husband Jesse James Briggins. They were married for over 60 years. She worked at Booker T Washington Insurance for 40 plus years until she retired in 2005.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse James (Cap) Briggins; parents: Dwight and Annie Mae Arnold; siblings: Cardell and Robert Louis Arnold, Lannie Arnold Rush; sister-in-law Donna Mae Arnold; nephews: Victor Lamar Arnold and Derrick Deshun Arnold .
She leaves to cherish her memories to a daughter and caregiver :
Javalyn Briggins; son: James(Priscilla) Briggins; grandchildren: Jameshia , Jaleshia, James, Janeshia, Javon, Christopher, Don Glenn, Donielle, Jeremy; Great-Grandchildren: Madison, Javion, Alayah; siblings:
Sarah(Larry) Bell, Mendez (Jemeica) Arnold, Brenda and Mynyown Arnold; sister-in-law Carlon (Raymond)
Williams, Carrie Bell Arnold; Dedicated cousin : Wertna (Micheal ) Broom; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
