Lawrence Clinton Dixie was born on July 15, 1950, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late William and Minnie Leonard Dixie. He was the sixth of twelve children and was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Baby (Bay) Tim.”
Lawrence received his public education in the Birmingham City School System. From an early age, he was grounded in the Christian faith at First Baptist Church, Woodlawn, where he faithfully attended Sunday School and church worship and actively participated in the Youth Baptist Training Union.
Lawrence peacefully transitioned from this life on July 6, 2026, at Cavalier Healthcare Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minnie Dixie; two sisters, Vernetta Robinson and Bernice Dixie; and two brothers, William Foster Dixie and Leonard Dixie.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory six sisters, Sylestine Garner of Detroit, Michigan; Zeprima Ervin, Marsha Cobb, Eleanor Proctor (Larry), and Gwendolyn Dixie (Adolphus), all of Birmingham, Alabama; and Sharon Jones of Douglas, Georgia; one brother, Jeffery Dixie of Birmingham, Alabama; and a loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lawrence was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He deeply loved his family, and we will forever love him and cherish his memory.
