Larry Gibson

Larry Gibson was born on March 20, 1948, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Ella Lee White. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Phillip and Lillie Gibson. Larry Gibson moved home after more than 40 years of living and working in New York City.  He passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in his home, as he had wished.  Larry was preceded in death by his brother Michael White, mother Ella Lee White, and sisters Diane White and Willie Lee Asberry.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  three sisters, Emma Gray (Robert) Birmingham, Martha Jean Goodgame, and Earnestine Tate; one brother, Hawthorne White; one loving daughter, Pamela Stinson (Samuel); three grandchildren, Javon Stinson, Latisha Stinson, and Samuel Stinson IV; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends and one special neighbor and friend, Robert Chappelle.
