Juanita Carr was born November 20, 1933 to the late Jeremiah and Annie Eliza Carr in Birmingham, Alabama. She was part of a close-knit family - the youngest daughter of ten children, seven brothers, and two sisters.
Juanita confessed to Christ at an early age and was baptized into fellowship at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Ensley. She joined in holy matrimony to Willie Jones Fells who preceded her in death with 53 years of marriage. To this union, they were blessed with three adorable children Antoinetta, Willie Jr (Sonny) preceded in death, and Patricia Delores.
She attended Councill Elementary and Parker High School. She continued her aspiration at Lawson State with a degree in Business which inspired her endeavors in real estate. After years of dedication to her family and education, she was inspired to become an educator and furthered her education at UAB and Alabama State University. After 30 years at Chalkville Elementary, she chose to retire to care for her husband. She also continued her dedication to family and the Ensley community by maintaining her family vision and entity “ Everyone deserves a nice place to live and be treated with respect”
Juanita made her transition on February 9, 2023, with her family at her bedside and open heavenly arms awaiting from son Willie Jr and grandson Willie III. Her memories will be cherished by devoted daughters, Antoinetta Fells Mayes and Patricia Fells Saunders. A loving brother Fred Carr. Godson Lamont Walton, Daughter-in-law Patricia A Fells, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Ensley community of friends.
