Mr. Johnny Howard was born on July 17, 1945 in Greenville, AL to both the late Mr. David and Mrs. Mattie Bell Howard. Johnny was summoned home early Thursday morning, June 18, 2020.
Johnny was educated in the Greenville School System. In 1963 he moved to Birmingham with his Mother and completed his education in the Birmingham City School System at Western-Olin High School in 1964.
Later he met and married Ella Towns and from that union four children were born. Johnny retired from Sloss Industries after 29 years of service.
Johnny was preceded in death by six siblings and a granddaughter.
Johnny leaves four children to cherish his memories: Lamurah D. (known as Ann) Howard, Sharon (William) McCreary, and Bernard Howard all of Birmingham, AL; and Mark (Tonia) Howard of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren: LaToya Y. Howard, Shaquille M. Howard, and Jayona Fortune all of Birmingham, AL, LaDerrius R. (Ashley) Howard of Fountain, CO, Markus A. Jackson-Howard of Newport News, VA, and Janiya and Jemera Howard of Dallas, TX; four great-grandchildren: Alysha J Bogus-Howard and Braylen Howard of Birmingham, AL, and Aiden and Amelia Howard of Fountain, CO; three sisters: Annie Lindsey of Birmingham, AL, and Rubye Atkins and Mary Howard, and one brother, Herman Howard, all of northern California. A devoted caregiver, Ms. Ella Howard, and a host of family and friends.
