Mr. John Henry Miller, Sr was born November 15, 1928, in Sulligent, AL to the late John and Ada Blanche Hollis Miller. He was educated and received his Vocational Certificate with the Walker County and Birmingham City School Systems. On August 8, 1952, John enlisted with the United States Army. After moving to Birmingham, AL he later united in Holy Matrimony to Christine Dobbins on February 26, 1953. To their union two children were born John Henry Miller, Jr and Ruby Elise Miller.
John worked as a truck driver over 25 years for Dixie Chemical Product, Inc. As well has having his own businesses: Miller Janitorial Service and Miller Supply Company.
John loved listening to Jazz, watching all types of sports especially baseball and Alabama "ROLL TIDE" football. Also, if you were ever in his presence while he watched Sanford and Son, you would have been amazed that even at age 93 how he could recite any episode word for word.
John made his transition on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents John Miller, Ada B. Johnson, Stepmother Autory M. Miller, wife Christine D. Miller, sisters Ora L. Jones, Minnie L. Neal, Betty L. Miller-Gregory, brothers Fred L. Miller, Earnest Miller, daughter-in-law Rhonda L. Miller and great granddaughter Jaynah P. Gainer.
He leaves to cherish his memory: One son John H. Miller, Jr. two daughters Dora Mae Holloway and Ruby E. Miller; three brothers Bobby (Fannie) Miller, James Miller, and Calvin (Lisa) Miller; one sister-in-law Mary L. McQueen; ten grandchildren: Eric Holloway, Jay N. Gainer, Shannon Moore, John Woods, Toya Woods-Arrington (David), Mary Markesha Lee, LeDarius Lee, Johnathan R. Miller (Kiara), Jasmine R. Miller and Cedric M. McClain. Twenty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, loving neighbors, friends, and several bonus daughters whom he cared about dearly.
