Today we celebrate the homegoing of one of God’s most precious and unique creations, John Edward Boston.
He was born in Birmingham on September 24, 1944, to Carey Boston Sr. and Minnie L. Boston.
At an early age, he gave his life to Christ under the leadership of Pastor W.M. Norwood. He worshiped there for 65 years.
Though he was unable to hear or speak, John had a deep love for people and a unique way of connecting with everyone he met. He had a special passion for funeral service, often visiting funeral homes and finding joy in directing and participating in services. His compassionate spirit and heartfelt presence touched many lives, even without words.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Carey Boston Sr. and Minnie L. Boston; siblings, Andrew Boston, Coleman Boston, David Boston, Aldean Robertson, Donald Boston, Erma Pyett, Carey Boston Jr., Wanda Boston King and Emma Williams; sister-in- laws, Mary Boston, Willetta Boston, and Essie Robertson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: sisters, Juanita Woolen and Ethel Boston; brothers, Leon Boston, Walter Boston (very special sister -in law Rosa) and Abraham Boston; a special nephew, Alfonso Reid (Tawana); loving sister in laws, Regina Boston, Angelyn Boston, Thelma Boston, Minerva Boston and Brenda Boston; a loving caretaker, Imogene Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
