Mrs. Janie B. Abercrombie was born in Sherman Heights, Alabama on August 31, 1939 to the late Henry and Marie Mitchell. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. John C. M. E. Church Slayden Avenue Sherman Heights. She later rededicated her life to Christ and joined Corinth Baptist Church under Reverend Major Bennett was she was a faithful choir member, her favorite song was “Walk with me Lord.
Janie was united in marriage to the late John L. Abercrombie, a union that lasted 42 years. Janie departed this life on October 15, 2020 at Princeton Hospital.
Janie B. Abercrombie worked at Community Hospital in Ensley, Alabama and the Birmingham Board of Education where she retired in 2004.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her daughter, Tiwanda Blue (Larry) Fultondale, AL, three grandchildren Candace Archie of Birmingham, AL, Hugh Archie ( Jaelyn) of Birmingham, AL, Josiah E. Blue Fultondale, AL. One brother James Mitchell of Birmingham, AL, two sisters Rose Tinsley of Cleveland, Ohio, and Marie James of Canada and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
