James Clark was born March 14, 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama to Mr. Tommy Dill and Ms. Willie Mae Clark . He was affectionately known to his family and friends as “ Shorty”. James was a graduate of the Birmingham School System. He graduated Western Olin High School in 1971 and later worked for the City of Birmingham.
James confessed Christ at an early age joining 23rd Street Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama.
James married Veronica A. Tippett on March 16, 1972. To that union, 5 children were born.
James was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers George Parrish, Ernest Parish, two sisters Terri Clark and Jessie Clark Perdue.
James is survived by: his wife, Veronica Clark; five daughters, Nykiki Clark Jelks, Tanya Clark Wright,
Tracy Y Clark, Stacey Y Clark and Audrey Myers; two sons, Kenneth Clark Sr. (Tyra) and James Myers;
three brothers, Freddie Clark (Elizabeth- deceased), Tommie Clark (Catherine) and Jimmie Clark; one aunt, Mattie Lou Davis; one uncle, Freddie Parrish; three nieces, Yolanda Walker, Carlisha Green (Bobby), Tina Perdue Morris (Josh); three nephews, Reginald Walker, James Perdue III and Derrick Clark; special nephew, Dyan Sams; 11 Grandchildren, 1 Great- grandson, and a host of relatives and friends.
