Mr. Garceal “Cee” McClain, Sr., age 69, of Birmingham, Alabama transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Born to the late Henry Otis and Jessie Mae McClain, he attended A.H. Parker High School where he graduated with honors and also graduated from the University of Phoenix with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul A.M.E. in Birmingham and serviced his country for many years through the Alabama National Guard. In 1973, he married his best friend and childhood sweetheart, Ms. Joyce Ann Holmes, and to that union they were blessed with three beautiful children. Garceal started his career at Rust Engineering as a draftsman until it closed. He continued a successful freelance career as a draftsman for over 20 years. Garceal was also instrumental in the modernizing how technical plans and drawings were developed at Rust and those techniques are still in use today. Garceal retired from Charter Communications as a Computer Programmer. He was an avid chess player, techie and book collector. Garceal is survived by his lovely wife, Mrs. Joyce Holmes McClain; daughter Ms. Rukiya P. McClain; two sons, Mr. Garceal “Cee Cee” McClain, Jr., and Mr. Kasmon Taurius McClain. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Fabriel Quiote McClain, Garnier Iglesius McClain, Mya Givens and Braxtin Garceal McClain. Garceal had two brothers, Mr. Carl Evans McClain (Deceased) and Mr. Aaron McClain; three sisters, Mrs. Robbie Pearl Benson (Keith), Mrs. Rosemary Range (Frank-Deceased), and Ms. Jettie Sue McClain. He is survived also by a host of family members and friends.
