Ernestine G. Graham was born on April 2, 1928, to the parents of Rev. Albert and Mrs. Pearlie Mae Garner in Birmingham, Alabama. At the age of 6, she was baptized by her father, Rev. Albert Garner, who was the pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church, 14th Street South. At the age of 10, her father was called to his eternal home. Several years later, Pearlie Mae Garner was introduced to Rev. L.S. Thomas, and they later married. Soon after, he was called to Hopewell Baptist Church, 24th Street North, Birmingham, AL. She was a graduate of Rosedale High School. In later years, Ernestine and John V. Graham would marry. On Father’s Day 1987, John and Ernestine Graham would join G.N.A.B.C., Dr. E.O. Jackson, Sr. pastor. After 40 years of a wonderful life together, Mr. John V. Graham was called to his eternal home.
Ernestine G. Graham peacefully departed this life on Monday, May 27, 2024, at her home in Leeds, AL. surrounded by her family. She was proceeded in death by her Husband John V. Graham, Son Lonnie O. Graham, Daughter Pearlie P. Parks, Mother Pearlie Mae Garner, and father Rev. Albert Garner, Daughter Mary Jo Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy of love: Son, Gus E. Parker Jr. (Diane); Daughter, Yolanda Jones; Granddaughters, Tamara Graham (Randall), Larris Hobbs (Eugne Sr.), Cynthia Willoughby, Keisha Woods (Sidney), Tashia Jones, Lauren Graham Cowens (Tahir) and Lonita Graham; Grandsons, Augustus Bozeman, Hendrick V. Parks (Mickey) and Gus Parker III; God daughters, Dianne Carter (Richard) and Celia Ardia (John); and a host of loving great and great-great grand kids and other relatives and friends.
