Elbert Brown 84, was born in Epps, Al to Rosa B. Dates. Later moved to Bessemer, Al where he graduated from Dunbar High School and attended Alabama A and M University on a football scholarship. Elbert also attended Bessemer Technical College where he studied welding and upholstery. Elbert served his country in the Vietnam War before being injured in a training accident.
Elbert leaves to cherish his memories: sisters, Vestee Dunlap and Mrs. Linda Brown; children, Emmett Turner, Cheryl Stallworth, Joyce Brown Cook, Cathy Jackson (Sam), Elbert Brown Jr. , Ernest Brown, and Erwin Brown (Athena); grandchildren, Quincy Brown, Robert Stallworth, Ederick T. Cook, Erin Cook, Tatiyanna Clark, Eldren Cater, and Michael Hargrove; Great-grandchildren, Journey Brown, Eyan Cook, Eric Brown, Emerald Cook, Robert Stallworth Jr., Jaden Stallworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.,
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Brown, his son Eric Brown and his grandson Kealand Pickens.
