Charley James Carlisle Sr. was born on December 30, 1946 in Mulga, Alabama.
The third of four children, Charley was educated in the Birmingham, Alabama Public School System. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1964 and later joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After completing his service in the Army in 1967, he moved to Highland Park, Michigan.
While in Michigan, he was hired in 1968 at Ford Motor Company at the Dearborn Assembly Plant. In 2007, he retired after 39 years of service.
In 1971, Charley entered into Holy Matrimony with Mearon Carlisle (Nee, Burts). From this union, two sons, Nicholas Dwayne Carlisle in 1973, and Charley James Carlisle Jr. in 1978, were born.
In 1994, Charley was blessed with a third son, Terrell Ruben Carlisle, (Sharie Webster - Mother).
Charley cherished his Westfield High School reunions, where he could be found deep in conversation reminiscing about school days and the “old neighborhood,” laughing heartily as he shared stories of his many youthful antics.
Charley had a genuine love of laughter and was known for his quick wit, a gift that endured even when he didn’t feel well. He was often quick with a joke - laughing at himself and effortlessly making others laugh, bringing light and comfort to those around him.
Charley liked College, NFL, NBA and WNBA sports. He also liked to watch old Western and War movies.
